CTH Certificate in English for Hospitality and Tourism Level 1
The minimum academic requirement is Elementary English.
 
CTH Certificate in English for Hospitality and Tourism Level 2
The minimum academic requirement is successful completion or exemption from CTH Certificate in English for Hospitality and Tourism Level 1 or Intermediate English.
 
CTH Diplomas
The applicant must have obtained the following academic requirement and English standard or the equivalent:

  Malaysia   Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM)   Grade 6
  Myanmar   Basic Education High School Certificate   55%

  Sri Lanka   GCE 'O' Level   Pass
  Vietnam   Year 12   55%
 
Qualifications from other countries not listed in the table will be assessed based on their equivalence to the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination.
 
If the applicant meets the minimum academic requirement but is unable to satisfy the necessary competence in English, the admission will only be considered if he or she achieves one of following proficiencies in English:
 
IELTS 5.0
TOEFL 500 (Paper)
TOEFL 173 (Computer)
TOEFL 61 (Internet)
CTH Certificate in English for Hospitality and Tourism Level 2.
 
CTH Advanced Diplomas
The minimum academic requirement is successful completion or exemption from CTH Diplomas or the equivalent.
 
The following qualifications or experience will normally exempt applicant from CTH Diplomas:
 
BTEC (Business & Technology Education Council) National Diploma in Hotel and Catering
AVCE (Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education)
HCIMA (Hotel & Catering Industry Management Association) Advanced Certificate in Hospitality
HCIMA (Hotel & Catering Industry Management Association) Professional Certificate
ICM (Institute of Credit Management) Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management
ICM (Institute of Credit Management) Diploma in Tourism and Business Studies
1 year course at Diploma level with at least 75% of the course equivalent to the relevant CTH Diploma modules
Two or more years experience in the relevant industry at supervisory level.
